Andrew Millard

Ohio Area Pantheist

Andrew Millard

Originally from England, I came to the United States to attend graduate school in New Jersey. Following that I spent almost three years in San Diego, and am now back on the east coast. I would like to not have to move for a while. (I do miss, though, being able to stand at the edge of the surf, staring into the Pacific.)

I live on the Hartford city line, making it easy to catch the bus to work at the UConn Health Center or to ride my bicycle to the Unitarian Society of Hartford, which will have to suffice until there's a functioning Pantheist congregation here. My apartment features two cats (Nadia and Sasha), three computers and way too many science fiction books and classical music CDs.

I like to cook, and eat, vegetarian (especially Indian) food. I'm interested in the interface between science and religion, and in particular the relationship between environmentalism and spirituality: I'm a life member of the Sierra Club and a former director of the World Pantheist Movement, as well as a member of the Institute on Religion in an Age of Science and attendee of their annual Star Island conference. In recent weeks, I've realised that I have a personal motto, "Life's too short to sing the melody."
