Hello every one. Recently (2001) I joined the Sci-pan community. I discovered sci-pan a couple of years ago while reading
information about Gene Roddenberry. It made a lot of sense to me so I made the Sci-pan site one of my favorite links. Eventually
I felt the time had come to join.
Here is some background info about me. I am 28 years old. I am a native of Canton,
Ohio. I live with my girfriend Mendi Estes. We recently celebrated our 6th year anniversary on Feb.15. We enjoy the company
of 2 dogs and 3 cats. I attended Kent State University earning a degree in computer information systems. Mendi also attended
KSU earning a degree in English.
I am diagnosed with Duchene's Muscular Dystrophy. Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy is
a rare inherited disorder characterized by progressive muscle weakness. I am currently in an electric wheelchair with very
limited movement. I am capable of speaking clearly, thinking clearly, navigating my wheelchair, and operating my computer.
My condition does not cause me too much discomfort. I am quite happy with my situation because it has and is teaching me
many lessons. Also, my girlfriend Mendi is legally blind and has a slight motor impairment, but also functions quite well.
Mendi and I make a great team.
Currently, I am working part time for my family's small restaurant and Mendi is content
caring for me and the other creatures in our home. Life is good and I look forward to meeting everyone.
